Ski and Snowboard School

Because everyone turns and learns differently.the Timberline Ski & Snowboard Schools offers an innovative learning environment for skiers and riders of all levels. Instruction is available in Alpine, Telemark, Back Country, Snowboard, and Adaptive techniques. Programs can be tailored to anyone's needs. Special programs are also offered for children, women and seniors. Lessons are available in group or private settings for those over 7 years of age. Private instruction is recommended for children 6 and under.

Group Lessons

Group lessons are available for adults and children 7 & over. We offer group lessons in Alpine, Nordic, snowboard and racing techniques. If your goal is to learn alongside a group of similar ability, a group lesson is the perfect environment.

Private Lessons

For children 6 & under we recommend private lessons. But if you are just a kid at heart and want to improve your skill level, we have an instructor that can help. When being good just isn't good enough...challenge and improve your skill with the best instructors the east has to offer.

Timber Adventure is the best way to introduce young children to the joys of skiing. This full-day program, for children age 4-7, provides coaching with specially trained instructors, lunch, equipment rental, and plenty of indoor and outdoor supervision. Timber Adventure is offered Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and holidays, and is available as a one, two, or three-day program. Registration begins at 8:00am. Advance reservations are not accepted. Enrollment is first come first served, until the program fills.

Established for children ages 8-12, Mountain Safari is designed to create an exciting atmosphere for young skiersd. The full-day sessions include instruction, lift ticket, equipment rental, and lunch while employing a wildlife theme that will appeal to young imaginations. Registration begins at 8:00am. Advance reservations are not accepted. Enrollment is first come, first served, and closes when program reaches capacity.

Children's Instruction

Timberline offers group and private lessons for young skiers and snowboarders age 7 & older. In order to accommodate the unique learning needs of children 6 & under, private instruction is recommended. A reduced private lesson rate is offered for children 6 & under .

Child Care Center

A licensed day care center is available on site for infants and young children. All day sessions 8:30am to 4:30pm. Half Day sessions 8:30am to 12:30pm & 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Quality child care while you enjoy our slopes.

Racing Programs

The Timberline Race Department offers several race clinics and workshops throughout the season. Racing activities include races for alpine and telemark skiers and snowboarders. Inquire at the ski school office and check out our Calendar of Mountain Events .

NASTAR

This nationally acclaimed program offers skiers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing. Participants can earn daily or annual awards, and through the use of a handicap system, compare their times with other racers across the country. NASTAR racing takes place Thursday through Monday during the regular season on the Lower Thunderstruck Race Course.
